DR. DEWEY URBAN

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Dr. Dewey E. Urban of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Jarvis will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Urban, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at Clearview Nursing Center.

He was born April 24, 1913, in Perryville, son of Dr. Walter E. and Nettie Bush Urban. He and Brownie Laux were married June 1, 1939.

Urban attended Westminster College in Fulton, Washington University, and St. Louis University Dental School.

He began a dentist practice in Sikeston in 1946. Urban was a member of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, and a brother, Dr. Kenneth Urban of California.
