Dr. Alice Elaine Jackson, 69, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at her home in Fruitland.
Elaine was born April 29, 1952, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Curtis Holland and Margaret Helen Klingel Jackson.
She was graduated from Scott County Central High School, Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Texas. She earned a doctorate from Texas Woman's University. Her professional nursing career included Baptist Memorial Hospital, Missouri Delta Medical Center and school nurse at Scott County Central Schools.
She taught at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and retired from Southeast Missouri State after 27 years of teaching. She retired as professor emerita of nursing in 2018.
Elaine is survived by her mother, Margaret Jackson; sister, Martha (Vincent) Cook; brother, Jim (Deanne) Jackson; two nephews, Bo (Nikki) Cook and Kris (Shannon) Cook; three nieces, Vanessa Cook, Casey (Bill) Evans and Jamie (Ed) Verkamp; two grandnephews; and three grandnieces.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.
