SIKESTON -- Dorsey (D.P.) Pruett, 85, died Friday, June 14, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Nov. 12, 1910, at Jamestown, Ky., son of William Finus and Lula Anna Smith Pruett.

He was a farmer.

He marred Lucille Hastings Nov. 24, 1924, at New Madrid. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Bobby Pruett of Alexandria, Ind.,; a daughter, June Elledge of Chicago; a brother, Clyde Pruett of Sikeston; a sister, Grace Bendinelli of Vicksburg, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, with the Rev. Dale McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
