SIKESTON -- Funeral mass for Dow L. White of Farmington, formerly of Charleston and Sikeston, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Church here. The Rev. Amel Shibley will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 5 p.m. Monday.
White, 82 years old, died Saturday, March 23, 1991, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, following an extended illness.
He was born May 30, 1908, at Thebes, Ill., son of Wesley D. and Mary Harrie Davis White. He and the former Mary Magdalene Gordon were married Jan. 31, 1940, at Benton.
White worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston many years, and retired after 16 years at Ursuline Nuns Center in Crystal City. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wesley White of Imperial; a daughter, Mary Boyer of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, three half brothers, and a half sister.
