ALTENBURG, Mo. — Douglas Brian Murakami, 51, of Altenburg died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Saint Louis University Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 1, 1972, in Cape Girardeau to Robert S. "Bob" and Christine Grace Fraser Murakami. He and Laura Ann Mashek were married April 26, 1999, in Cape Girardeau.
Doug worked for TG Missouri in Perryville, Missouri.
He liked guns and shooting, and enjoyed riding his bike.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Murakami of Altenburg; mother, Christine Murakami of Cape Girardeau; son, Dylan (Olivia Grooms) Murakami of Charleston, South Carolina; two daughters, Meagen (fiance, Tyler Shelton) Murakami, and their daughter, Kami of Jackson, and Christian Murakami, and her son, Tucker Keele, and daughter, Ariana Murakami of Jackson; two brothers, Daniel (Dawn) Murakami of Cape Girardeau and Greg (Kristie) Murakami of Millersville; sister, Tara (David) Patterson of Cape Girardeau; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stuart and Beatrice Mashek of Scott City; brother-in-law, Brian Mashek; and several nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law, Latasha Mashek.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 24, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at noon Friday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
