SCOTT CITY -- Private service for Douglas M. Patterson of Richmond, Va., was held Friday at Bennett Funeral Home there. The Rev. William Ferguson officiated, with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
Patterson, 49, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Major Cecil G. and Vivian A. Patterson. He and the former Marion Torbett were married in 1968.
Patterson graduated from Scott City High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He served eight years in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander.
He was associated for a time with Wassau of America. He was currently manager of the central Virginia office of R.L. Polk and Co.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher, stationed with the U.S. Marines at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and his mother of Scott City.
