PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Douglas Charles Koetting, 50, formerly of Perryville, died of natural causes Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home in Newburgh, Indiana.

He was born July 14, 1963, in Richmond Heights, Missouri, son of Hubert and Dolores Schemel Koetting.

Doug graduated in 1981 from Perryville High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University and ITT Tech. He held a variety of positions within the customer service industry, including field service technician for GTECH Corp. He was a dedicated volunteer with the American Red Cross, assisting in blood drives, first aid stations and fundraising and was an official "Team Member of Disaster." He enjoyed and took immense pride in his huge vinyl rock album collection. He had become a staunch conservative and an avid Christian, firm in his faith.

Doug is the forever-loved brother of Deborah Denton of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Dean (Sandy) Koetting of Lubbock, Texas, and Denice "Litch" (Leon) Martin of Newburg. He was beloved uncle of Lauren Koetting of Lubbock and Michael Koetting of Austin, Texas. He was a cherished nephew of Leonella Coffey and Bernard Koetting, both of Perryville. Doug was also a loving cousin and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Helen "Earlene" (Leslie) Koetting; and one brother, Martin Koetting.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to funeral expenses.

Young and Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Perryville provided the arrangements.
