Douglas Lasher Golden, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Urbana, Illinois, to Stephen R. and Virginia Lasher Golden.

He graduated high school in Flora, Illinois, and from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.

He and Audrey Eshleman were married Aug. 25, 1957, at Thawville, Illinois.

Douglas was ROTC captain in the Army from 1957 to 1959.

He worked at Continental Grain--Wayne Feeds.

He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Cathy) Golden of Burfordville and Bradley (Martha) Golden of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Carrie (Justin) Cain, Benjamin Golden and Matthew Golden; three great-grandchildren, Zander, Elliott and Elizabeth Cain; and a brother-in-law, Fred (Jackie) Eshleman.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Roberta Kiser.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 30, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at noon Saturday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Academy, 2935 Lynwood Hills Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
