SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Douglas Eugene Curnell, 67, of Scott City died Friday, July 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 7, 1933, at Illmo, Mo., son of William Harold and Catherine Louise Cavaness Curnell. He and Lilla Mae Lape were married March 20, 1954, at Illmo.

Curnell was a station supervisor with Saveway Oil Co. 23 years, and then was water department supervisor with city of Scott City eight years.

He was a member of Illmo Baptist Church. He served in the Missouri National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff Curnell of Scott City; a daughter, Barbara Herndon of Jackson, Mo.; a brother, Harold Curnell of Wappapello, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The Rev. Dennis Bell will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
