VALLEY PARK, Mo. -- Martin Douglas Paul passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Born Dec. 13, 1960, he was the son of Margie Ford and the late Martin Paul. He grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey, before settling in St. Louis.

Doug was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals. He loved reading about the Old West and the Outlaws, such as Jesse James and The James Gang. He enjoyed learning about Native Americans and the different tribes and their life here. He loved board games, hiking, flea markets and being around family. Wildlife was his passion. He was a walking encyclopedia of all subjects but especially animals, specifically, big cats and bears. We are certain in Heaven he is working with Noah and the animals!

He was a wonderful son, the best brother to four sisters, a great uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. Doug was a kind soul. It wasn't unusual to see him perform small random acts of kindness. He was always thinking of others.
