MOUNDS, Ill. -- Doug Long, 69, of Mounds died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Salem, Ky., son of Gene and Leona Sharp. Survivors include two sons, Mike Long of Villa Ridge, Doug Long of Mounds; two daughters, Brenda Snider of Marion, Lisa Calvert of Mounds; two stepsons, John Tucker of Mound City, Jerry Kurtz of Mounds; two stepdaughters, Judy Webb of Marion, Lisa Calvert of Mounds; a sister, Luvene Duckworth of Dongola; a brother, Roy Long of Mounds; a friend, Colleen Colbroth of Mounds; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.. ...

He was preceded in death by his parents, a wife, a stepson, and a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Badgley officiating. Burial will be in Sims Cemetery near Elco.
