CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dottie Halbert Vickery, 88, daughter of the late Leo Scheeter and Dora Goetz Scheeter was born on Oct. 16, 1933, in Chaffee and departed this life on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at her home in Chaffee.
Dottie was a graduate of St. Mary's High, former dental assistant in Chaffee for many years and a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.
On July 16, 1955, she was first united in marriage to Harold Halbert. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1944. She was then united in marriage to Charles Vickery Jr. on March 15, 1995. Vickery preceded her in death on July 19, 2018.
Survivors include two sons, Hal (Linda) Halbert of Wappapello, Missouri, Mitchell (Jill) Halbert of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Charles (Kathy) Vickery of Sikeston, Missouri and Jim (Susie) Vickery of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and thirteen step-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Scott Halbert; one daughter, Jan Halbert; one brother, Dick Scheeter; two sisters, LaVera Schwartz and Charlene Morgan.
Services will be held at a later date conducted by the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
