Dorothy E. Williams, 92, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Lutheran home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 25, 1930, in Olney, Illinois, to the late Wesley and Erma Gardner Scranton. She and Hansel Willie Williams were married July 11, 1947, in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 2001.
Dorothy enjoyed being out in nature, and was a cat lover. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include five sons, Barry Williams of Kokomo, Indiana, Terry (Betty) Williams of Bethany, Illinois, Bruce Williams of Whitewater, Timothy (Becky) Williams of Burfordville and David (Lupe) Williams of Victor, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cunningham, and two brothers, Russell and Kenneth Scranton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, Jan. 19, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at noon Thursday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
