MOUNDS, Ill. -- Dorothy Jean Wild, 66, of Mounds, formerly of Cairo, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Wickliffe, Ky., daughter of Joseph Wesley and Mattie Williams Simmons.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo, where she was active in the church choir. She was a bookkeeper for the Elias True Value store in Cairo.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Wild of Mounds; two daughters, Sandra French of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Shery Meadows of Mounds; two sisters, Betty Stewart of Jackson, Tenn., and Kathryn Steilberg of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Billy Joe Simmons of LaCenter, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m Sunday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glynn Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
