Dorothy J. Wescott, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 20, 2007, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1917, in Carroll County, Mo., daughter of King A. and Mary M. Perry Lightfoot. She and Frank Wescott were married July 8, 1937, in Carrollton, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Wescott retired from Hedrick Medical Center, where she had been a cook and a nurse's aide. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 2000 from Hale, Mo. She was a member of Hale Baptist Church, president of Army Mothers Military Friends and a Sunday school officer.
Survivors include a son, Frank Wescott of Salina, Kan.; two daughters, Shirley Gilford of Sumner, Mo., Mary Ann Day of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ruby Lagore of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a stepson.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Lindley Funeral Home in Hale. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery.
