Dorothy M. Walter, 74, of Jackson passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Wednesday, June 17, 1936, in Philadelphia, daughter of Nathan Richards and Dorothy Keir. She and Chester Walter were married Dec. 21, 1957. He survives.
Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Ambler High School in Ambler, Penn. She was a ballet teacher for many years in Lansdale, Penn. Dorothy was also an avid reader and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include two daughters, Vicky (Wayne) Shockley of Jackson and Lisa Marie Walter of Heber, Utah; two sisters, Ruth Richards of Kildere, N.D., and Natalie Drissell of Lansdale; a brother, David Richards of Lansdale; and four grandchildren, Ashley Donnelly, Shannon Donnelly, Cori Shockley, all of Jackson, and Trista Donnelly of Heber.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Katrina Krumrie.
Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
