JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Dorothy Anna Wagner, 93, of Jefferson City died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born April 9, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Amelia Clara Klages Nothdurft. She was married June 2, 1943, in Cape Girardeau to Melvin Lee Wagner, who preceded her in death Dec. 14, 2007.
A 1939 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School, Mrs. Wagner graduated from the former Southeast Missouri State Teachers College in 1942 and later became a registered dietitian in 1961.
She was a high-school home economics teacher in Lutesville, Missouri, and served as assistant dietitian at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau from 1957 to 1964. For the next 20 years, she was a registered dietitian and food and nutrition specialist with the University of Missouri Extension until her retirement in 1985.
She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Ruth Circle, the United Methodist Women, Missouri University Retirees Association, Epsilon Sigma Phi Extension Professional Fraternity and Moreau View Extension Club.
She greatly enjoyed reading, genealogy and antiquing.
She is survived by three children, Charles W. (Sandra) Wagner of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, Marilyn D. (David) Hubbard of Cape Girardeau and David L. Wagner of Jefferson City; three grandsons, Charles E. Wagner of Millstadt, Illinois, Scott D. (Melissa) Hubbard of Cape Girardeau and Brian C. (Angela) Hubbard of Jackson; one stepgranddaughter, Donna (Paul) Christian of Tampa, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Hubbard and Britney Hubbard, both of Cape Girardeau, and Amelia Wagner and Eli Wagner, both of Columbia, Illinois; three great-stepgrandchildren, Alexandra, Gabriella and Jessica Christian, all of Tampa; one sister-in-law, Bernice Wagner of Cape Girardeau; and three nephews, John (Mary) Caldwell of Cape Girardeau, Stuart Caldwell of New York City and Robert (Kathy) Wagner of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Charline Caldwell.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
The funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating. Entombment will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cape Girardeau Memorial Park Mausoleum.
