SIKESTON -- Dorothy Virginia Shamblin, 74, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1992, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. She was born March 8, 1917, in Elkville, Ill., daughter of William Silas and Viola Foster Eaton. She married Orval R. Shamblin Sept. 6, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 24, 1991...

SIKESTON -- Dorothy Virginia Shamblin, 74, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1992, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla.

She was born March 8, 1917, in Elkville, Ill., daughter of William Silas and Viola Foster Eaton. She married Orval R. Shamblin Sept. 6, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 24, 1991.

Shamblin was a member of Elkville Baptist Church, and OES Chapter 122 at Charleston.

Survivors include a brother, William Eaton of Murphysboro; three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Brummel officiating. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. at Hallidayboro Cemetery in Elkville, with the Rev. Glenn Hart officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.
