Dorothy Hill Bryson Trotter, 98, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, daughter of Thomas Jackson Bryson and Mary Albert Hill Bryson. She was raised in her beloved New Orleans.
On June 30, 1943, she married J. Ray Trotter in Tampa, Florida. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1996.
Mrs. Trotter was a member of Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia, and she was a 40-year member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Trotter moved from Cape Girardeau in 2002 to be near her children.
Survivors include Sharon (Bob) Bailey of Columbia, Sandra (Chuck) Sharamitaro of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and William Ray Trotter (Sonie) of Cabool, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private service was held at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
There will be a celebration of her life in Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women's and Children's Hospital, Columbia, where "Miss Dorothy" donated dozens of her hand-stitched baby quilts, or to Centenary Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
