Dorothy Jane Swain, daughter of the late Dick and Mary Buell Davis, was born Aug. 3, 1954, in Oran, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, July 31, 2021, with her sons and family at her side in Dutchtown at the age of 66 years.
Dorothy loved taking care of her kids at the daycare, early morning walks on the beach, reading at the river, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Richie (Amy) Swain of Dutchtown and Tony (Kelly) Swain of Burfordville; two stepsons, Jamie and Andy Welch; brother, Bill (Brenda) Davis of Tampa, Florida; three sisters, Peggy Lape of Chaffee, Missouri; Laverne (Gene) Warren of Morley, Missouri; and Janice (Rich) Eller of Karnak, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Carsyn, Josh, Katie, Hayden and Brody Swain.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Jim and Glenn Davis; and two sisters, Mary Lou Penhale and Sue Hagen.
There will be a memorial visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Shoemaker officiating.
