Dorothy Stock

PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Dorothy Ann Stock, 87, of Perryville passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Independence Care Center.

She was born June 26, 1936, in Cape Girardeau County to Nicholas H. and Nellie D. White Schwach. Dorothy and Paul J. Stock were married June 18, 1955. He preceded her in death May 6, 2017.

Dorothy earned her nurse training in pediatric health care at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, Missouri, and of Elks Lodge 2701, American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Council 1263 Auxiliary, all of Perryville. Dorothy was a faithful volunteer at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle and at Crisis Nursery Center in Perryville. She enjoyed doing needle work, quilting, fishing, feeding the fish in her lake, bingo and working in her beautiful flower gardens.

Survivors include four sons, Dennis M. Stock of St. Louis, Dale V. (Sherry) Stock of St. Charles, Missouri, Timothy J. Stock of Perryville and Thomas J. Stock of Perryville; and three grandchildren, Jason Stock, Dale Stock Jr. and Jessica Stock.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Nicholas Schwach Jr., John Schwach and James Schwach; and one sister, Marystelle Penner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, and from 8 to 9:20 a.m., with the rosary recited at 8:15 a.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, with the Rev. Michael Benz officiating. Burial will be at St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Maurus Cemetery or the Alzheimer's Association.
