Dorothy Schmitt

LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Dorothy Schmitt, 72, of Leopold died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at the home of a daughter.

She was born June 1, 1934, at Crump, daughter of Edwin C. and Anna E. Sprengel Overbeck. She and Charles M. Schmitt were married June 6, 1964. He died March 13, 2001.

Schmitt was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include a son, Charles Schmitt of Leopold; a daughter, Joann James of Leopold; two brothers, Howard and David Overbeck of Gordonville; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo., from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Ann Mowery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
