OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Funeral for Dorothy M. Sams of Olive Branch will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Carl Hester will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today, and at the church after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Sams, 96, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1903, in Avena, daughter of James and Lucy Avena Eyestone Irey. She and Nelson Isom were married in 1926. He died Oct. 1, 1947. She later married Leon Sams April 2, 1951. He died May 11, 1997.
Sams was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Browning and Norma Winn of Olive Branch; two sons, Gene Isom of Gainesville, Fla., Jack Isom of Huntsville, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.
