PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy Marie Rhyne, 96, of Perryville died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 18, 1916, in Crosstown, Mo., daughter of Elia E. and Christina Bohnert Sandlin. She and Herbert Pingel were married May 27, 1937. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1961. She and Theodore Rhyne were married May 17, 1968. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 2001...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy Marie Rhyne, 96, of Perryville died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 18, 1916, in Crosstown, Mo., daughter of Elia E. and Christina Bohnert Sandlin. She and Herbert Pingel were married May 27, 1937. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1961. She and Theodore Rhyne were married May 17, 1968. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 2001.

Mrs. Rhyne was a salesclerk at Rozier's Variety 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Concordia Ladies Aid, VFW Auxiliary Post 4282 and former DAV Auxiliary member.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Brueckner of Cape Girardeau; three daughters-in-law, Shirley Pingel of Perryville, Betty Roth of Cape Girardeau, Judy Douglas of Farmington, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three sons, Robert, Don and Dwight Pingel; two brothers, Clifford and Willard Sandlin.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The VFW Auxiliary wake will be at 6:30 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
