Dorothy Nadine "Dot" Raines, 89, of Scott City passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Ancell, Missouri, to Elza and Elberta Mae Watkins Simmons.
Dot and Joseph Franklin Raines were married Dec. 23, 1946, at Fornfelt, Missouri. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2012.
She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church and Scott County Extension Club.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce (Janie) Raines and Alan (Cathy) Raines, both of Scott City, and Wesley Raines of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Robin (Harold) Moore of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Dan Raines, Holly Raines, Brandon (Cara) Raines, Brent (Ashley) Raines, Ashley (Josh) Koehler, Ryan (Amanda) Moore and Blake (Monica) Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter expected in June.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepfather, Otis Simmons; an infant daughter, Barbara Ruth; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
