Dorothy L. Tinnin Norris, 82, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 7, 1936, in Cape Girardeau to John Frank and Versie Lorance Tinnin. She and the Rev. James E. Norris were married Oct. 3, 1954, at Marquand, Missouri.
She was a graduate of Marquand High School.
She helped her husband with church activities and became his private secretary. She was an administrative assistant at churches in Houston, Caruthersville and Troy, Missouri.
She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. James E. Norris of Jackson; a son, James E. (Darlene) Norris Jr. of Lampe, Missouri; a daughter, Dena (Randall) Babb of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Horrell, James E. (Amanda) Norris III, Christopher (Andrea) Norris and John Sorrells; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Buck and the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will be at Whitener Cemetery in Marquand.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
