SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Matthews of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles E. Buck will officiate, with burial in Sikeston City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Mrs. Matthews, 84 years old, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 1990, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born June 24, 1906, in Columbus, Ky., daughter of Robert Byron and Sarah Margaret Moore Lillard. She married Charles D. Matthews III June 25, 1927. He died Dec. 28, 1951.
Mrs. Matthews graduated from Sikeston High School in 1923 and from Christian College in Columbia in 1925. She taught at South Grade Elementary School here two years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Moore of Sikeston; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles D. Matthews IV in 1974, and a brother, Reece Lillard.
