Dorothy Williams

Dorothy Lee Williams died Dec. 17, 2008, in El Paso, Texas.

She was born April 29, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Francis M. and Anne Huey Williams.

Miss Williams was educated in Cape Girardeau public schools and received a B.S. in education from Southeast Missouri State University and a M.A. in business education from Columbia University in New York City. She was a teacher of business education in the public schools of Wood River, Ill., and the El Paso Independent School District, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Raphael Parish, active in AARP Chapter 1942 and a member of El Paso Retired Teachers Association.

The youngest of eight children, she was preceded in death by Claud R. Williams, Ralph D. Williams, Joe H. Williams, Hazel Williams Hale, Frankie Williams Estes, Helen Louis Williams and Virginia Williams Lamkin.

A private family burial service will take place at Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
