NORMAL, Ill. -- Dorothy Jean Law of Normal passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at her home.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 3, 1930, in Clarkton, Missouri, to the late Homer "Blue" and Gladys Champ Stinnett.
She married Melvin "Bud" Law on May 31, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2010.
Dorothy spent most of her working life with the Gideon-Anderson Lumber Company in Gideon, Missouri, and HAVCO Wood Products in Scott City.
She loved to work and made countless friends during her career.
Dorothy enjoyed Cardinal baseball, knitting, puzzles, spending time with family and cooking for friends.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Kenneth Law of St. Charles, Missouri, and Larry (Laurie) Law of Bloomington, Illinois, and two grandchildren, John Law and Millicent Law.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scott City Nutrition Center, where Dorothy spent many happy days in her final years.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, with the Rev. Marty Hasz officiating.
