Dorothy L. Peetz, 88, of Jackson passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born March 3, 1928, in Jackson to Edgar and Frieda Borgfield Winkler. She and Wilbert R. Peetz were married Oct. 5, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. They had been married 60 years when Wilbert passed away Dec. 2, 2007...

Dorothy L. Peetz, 88, of Jackson passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born March 3, 1928, in Jackson to Edgar and Frieda Borgfield Winkler. She and Wilbert R. Peetz were married Oct. 5, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. They had been married 60 years when Wilbert passed away Dec. 2, 2007.

Dorothy worked 12 years as the administrator for the Jackson Senior Citizens Center, retiring in 1995.

She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville and a member of the Ladies Aid. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and reading.

Loving survivors include two children, Darryl (Joy) Peetz of Jackson and Janie (the late Walter) Ross of Carmel, Indiana; three grandchildren, Claire (Michael) O'Neal and children Isaac and Jacob of Newark, Delaware, Christian (Jean) Ross and children Jonas, Ian and Otis of McCordsville, Indiana, and Joshua Peetz and wife, Sabrina Lenge, of Frohna, Missouri; and two siblings, Elmer "Bud" Winkler of Cairo, Illinois, and LaVerne (Jeff) Lloyd of Odessa, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Virginia Ulrich.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville, with the Rev. Mike Gallagher officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
