Dorothy G. Wulfers Huff, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Saturday, Dec. 8, 1923, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to William and Cora Lalumendier Bruenig.

Dorothy was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and St. Luke’s School of Nursing in St. Louis. She taught nursing at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, was the plant nurse at Procter & Gamble for many years, was a nurse for the state schools in Missouri and worked at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the River Heritage Quilters’ Guild, loved to travel and make ceramics.

Survivors include a daughter, Carla Wulfers of St. Clair, Missouri; a son, Mark (Carol) Wulfers of Canton, Michigan; a son-in-law, Jeff Wyatt of Gordonville; grandchildren Thomas (Lindsey) Wyatt, Carly Wyatt and Carl and Josh Wulfers; and great-grandchildren Eloise and Eban Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carl Edward Wulfers; her second husband, Dale Huff; a daughter, Linda Wyatt; a brother, William Bruenig; and grandchildren Paul Owen, Tyler Carl and Evan Lee Wyatt.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice in memory of Dorothy.
