Dorothy L. Howell, 86, of Quinlan, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Legend Health Care in Greenville, Texas.
A memorial service was held Aug. 9 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Interstate 30 East, in Greenville. The Rev. John Cox and David Clinkscale officiated.
Mrs. Howell was born June 4, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Louis A. and Radie Ellen Stacy O'Howell. She and Eugene D. Howell were married March 16, 1946, in Jackson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Caddo Mills, Texas. Mrs. Howell was a retired secretary and formerly owned Howell's Greenhouse in Burleson, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Howell of Quinlan; a son, Keith Howell of Greenville; two daughters, Karen Clinkscale of Granbury, Texas, Sherry Ryan of Quinlan; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Grover and George O'Howell; four sisters, Dora Williamson, Audrey Welker, Edna Baker and Wanda Break.
The family requests memorials be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Arthritis Foundation.
