Dorothy Lee Haupt, 85, formerly of Jackson, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the home of her son in Hockley County, Texas.
She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Ervin and Alma Schaefer Franck. She and Troy T. Haupt Sr. were married Jan. 29, 1943. He passed away July 26, 1968.
Mrs. Haupt was baptized and confirmed at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a former member of Perkins Missionary Baptist Church in Perkins, Mo., and a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
Dorothy had worked for Dr. Wolffe's office and later for Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Allyne Haupt Jr. of Hockley County; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ervin and Bill Franck; and five sisters, Ella Sinn, Ruth Farrow, Geraldine Mehrle, Shirley Josey and Ruby Moore.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Schweer.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
After the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.
