Dorothy Elizabeth Glastetter, 91, of Scott City died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 7, 1931, in Leopold, Missouri, to Gerhard and Anna Thiele Vandeven. She married John Zeno Glastetter on Jan. 17, 1953, and he preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2016.
Dorothy was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri, and the Ladies Sodality. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma who loved gardening, quilting, yard sales and picking out pecans.
She is survived by two sons, Sam (Tina) Glastetter of Scott City and Jim (Laurie) Glastetter of Benton, Missouri; two daughters, Diane Glastetter of Salem, Missouri, and Mary (Donald) Baker of Scott City; grandchildren, Dawn, Brandon, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Sammie and Jamie; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Jeremy, Evander and Julianne.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Glastetter; daughter, Carol Glastetter; grandson, Matthew Glastetter; and seven siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish rosary will be at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with the Revs. Tom Wilk and Bala Swamy Govindu as con-celebrants. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
