Dorothy Ervin
Dorothy D. Ervin, 86, formerly of Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Woodland Nursing Home in Arnold, Mo.
She was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Morley, Mo., daughter of William A. and Mary M. Capps Beggs. She and Wilson Ervin were married May 31, 1944, at Morley, Mo. He passed away Dec. 14, 2003.
Dorothy moved to Jackson in 1970 and worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. Due to failing health, she moved to Arnold in 2003 to be near family.
Loving survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Susan Ervin of Tiptonville, Tenn., Darrell and Pam Ervin of Arnold; five grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Pope, Shane (Kerri) Ervin, Greg (Kim) Ervin, Kurt (Kelly) Ervin and Jason (Kelly) Ervin; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with grandsons Greg, Kurt and Jason Ervin officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
