ADVANCE, Mo. — Dorothy Jean Elfrink, 91, of Advance died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at her home.
Born Oct. 30, 1929, near Lutesville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Rhoba Burette and Mary Ann Hill Clifton. She married Elmer Paul Elfrink on March 3, 1945, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy was retired from the Florsheim Shoe Co. She also worked for Inland Shoe Co. and the Marble Hill (Missouri) Hat Factory.
Her pastime was spent attending weekly auctions, painting craft pieces and artwork, embroidery and writing.
She attended Fairview General Baptist Church near Advance.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Earl (Kathy) Elfrink of Advance and Elmer (Lilli) Elfrink of Cape Girardeau; a special friend, Richard Heffner; two granddaughters, Gail (Scott) Payne and Libby (Ryan) Mason; six great-grandchildren, Levi and Kaitlyn Payne and Bailey Payne, Mollie, Eli and Ethan Mason; and one great-great-grandchild, Warner Payne.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one grandson, David Elfrink, four sisters and three brothers.
Visitation and funeral services will be Saturday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until service time. Service will begin at 11 a.m., with her sons, the Rev. Earl and Elmer Elfrink officiating. Burial will follow in Dongola Friendship Cemetery.
