Dorothy Dodd

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Dorothy Lucille Dodd, 95, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at City Care Center in Anna, Ill.

She was born July 19, 1909, at Jonesboro, daughter of Charles L. and Lora Musselman Axley. She and Enos H. Dodd were married Dec. 15, 1925, in Benton, Ill. He died Jan. 22, 1978.

Dodd was a bookkeeper at Joiner Furniture Store, and she and her husband owned and operated Dodd Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Nancy Vossenkemper of Bethalto, Ill.; six stepgrandchildren; 14 great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and an infant son.

Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
