Dorothy M. Cox, 93, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in Chatsworth, due to sudden acute illnesses and Alzheimer's disease. She was born April 15, 1921, in St. Louis to Joseph and Emma Lindhorst. Dorothy M. Cox, 93, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in Chatsworth, due to sudden acute illnesses and Alzheimer's disease.

She was born April 15, 1921, in St. Louis to Joseph and Emma Lindhorst.

Dorothy had been an active member of La Croix United Methodist Church and past secretary, vice president and president of the Lions Club in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sue "Susan" and Ralph Hertlein of Cleveland, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Cox; and nieces, Judy Parker and Jan Erikson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lee Lindhorst; husband, Wilber S. "Bud" Cox; and beloved son, Robert N. Cox of Cape Girardeau.

Per her request, she was cremated, and there will be no memorial service.

If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. (Bud Cox passed away due to cancer.)

Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth was in charge of arrangements.
