Dorothy Marie Collier, 89, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Jan, 5, 1930, in Ridgley, Tennessee. She and Ernest Collier were married Dec. 10, 1953, in East Prairie, Missouri. Three children were born to their union, Clint, Bruce and Mark. They had been married 50 years when Ernest passed away July 4, 2004.

Dorothy attended school in East Prairie. She was a homemaker, and together, she and Ernest established D & E Enterprises, owning and operating several rental properties in Southeast Missouri. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Jackson and was instrumental in establishing the new church on Old Toll Road.

Loving survivors include two sons, Clint (Nancy) Collier and Bruce (Ella) Collier, both of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Janice (the late Mark) Collier of Gordonville; four grandchildren, Christy Collier of Jackson, Neil (Lori) Collier of Gordonville, Adam Collier of Jackson and Alex Collier of New Wells; five great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Zane, Max, Beckett and Hollis Collier; two siblings, Shelby (Ann) Ellis and Raymond Ellis of East Prairie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; a son, Mark; her parents, Eugene and Lillian Ellis; and a brother, Richard (Leanor) Williams.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Zane, Max, Neil, Alex and Adam Collier, Brian and Steve Ellis.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Jackson Senior Center or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
