SIKESTON -- Dorothy Barnes, 74, of Williamsville, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, June 23, 1995, at her daughter's residence in Williamsville.
She was born July 6, 1920, in Marked Tree, Ark., daughter of Ben and Evelyn Birthwright Johnson.
She was a nurse's aide for 21 years at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston and a member of Salcedo Missionary Baptist Church.
On Nov. 12, 1936, she married J.B. Barnes in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1957.
Survivors are two sons, James B. Barnes of Sikeston and David R. Barnes of Bell City; three daughters, Mary Autry of Maryland Heights, Wanda Deal of Williamsville and Patricia Long of Rolla; a brother, Sidney Johnson of Risco; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
A daughter and two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Heitman of Dexter officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston.
