Doris Welker Mrs. Doris Ladine Tucker Welker, 84, of Williamstown, Mo., died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. She was born April 5, 1925, in Graham Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, to Joseph Samuel (J.S.) and Daisy Elene Burford Tucker. She married Richard R. Welker on Jan. 30, 1946, in Wayland, Mo. Mrs. Doris Ladine Tucker Welker, 84, of Williamstown, Mo., died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

She was born April 5, 1925, in Graham Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, to Joseph Samuel (J.S.) and Daisy Elene Burford Tucker. She married Richard R. Welker on Jan. 30, 1946, in Wayland, Mo. He preceded her in death June 21, 1994.

Doris was a member of the Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown and a 50-year member of the OES 547 of Williamstown and now chapter 40 of Kahoka, Mo.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Larry D. Welker and his wife Debbie of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Bobbie J. Toops and her husband Robert of Williamstown; a son, Jack R. Welker and his wife Shelia of Williamstown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren: Robby H. Toops and his wife Kim and daughters Megan and Sydney of Sedalia, Mo.; Rich Toops of Williamstown; Tonya L. Welker and daughter Taylor of Cape Girardeau; Teresa R. Medley and husband James of Cape Girardeau; Matthew D. Welker and son Hunter of Tinker AFB Oklahoma City, Okla.; Kellie A. Fisher and her husband Hank and daughters Macie and Ella of Canton, Mo.; and Scott M. Welker and wife Kimber and sons Brendon and Conner of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; sister-in-law Tommie D. Welker of Wayland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Norma Welker of Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Paul Eugene Tucker; sister and brother-in-law Dorotheann and Virgil "Bud" St. Clair; brothers-in-law Arnold, Floyd, Franklin and Virgil Welker.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home in Canton, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ernest Deatrick and Joe Pike officiating. Burial will be in Ballard Cemetery near Kahoka. Online condolences may be left at www.davis-fh.com.
