Doris Jean Snyder, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 30, 1942, in Grayridge, Missouri, to Cleo and Elsie Bolden Rhine.

She and Edgar Grant Snyder Jr. were married January 28, 1975, in Corinth, Mississippi.

Geneie received her LPN from Missouri Delta Hospital. She practiced nursing for over 27 years in skilled-care facilities in the Dexter, Missouri, area.

Her and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping at Twin Bridges and Hidden Valley.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar Grant Snyder Jr. of Cape Girardeau; her mother, Elsie Rhine of Dexter; three daughters, Shawndalyne Pruitt of Dexter and Rebekah Gromer and Tara Snyder, both of Marble Hill, Missouri; two brothers, Joe (Tammy) Rhine of Dexter and Jaime (Susanne) Rhine of Plainfield, Indiana; two sisters, Mary (Richard) Horkey of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Peggy (Richard) Hughey of Olathe, Kansas; and six grandchildren, Saige, Gaige, Preston, Joe, McKenzie and Raelynn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cleo; a daughter, Cynthia Pruitt; and a brother, Herbert Rhine.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
