BENTON -- Doris S. Welter, 52, of Benton, died suddenly Tuesday, May 31, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 23, 1941, at Blodgett, daughter of John and Thelma Bryant Evans. She and Jerome Welter were married Oct. 3, 1959, at Benton.
Welter was a clerk in the Scott County Clerk's Office the past five years. She also had worked in the Scott County Sheriff's Office and at First Financial Bank. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Randy Welter of Washington, Ill., John Welter of Benton; two daughters, Kim Pool and Jennifer Welter of Benton; her mother of Matthews; two sisters, Joyce Edwards of Sikeston, Dianne Brown of Phoenix, Ariz., and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Denis Church, with the Rev. Martin Culligan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
