Doris J. Morton, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born May 18, 1935, at Arbor, Mo., daughter of Joe H. and Cleo Mansker Jones. She and Jack E. Morton were married Feb. 6, 1951, in Paragould, Ark. He died Feb. 12, 2004.

Morton had been deli manager at the Kroger Store in Cape Girardeau. Her greatest joys and accomplishments always centered on her sons and grandchildren. She lived her life loving and serving the Lord, her family and all who were blessed to know her.

She showed her kindness in everything she did. She put others first and showed her love by her deeds. Although she will be greatly missed, her legacy of love will carry on in all who had the honor to be a part of her life.

She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lynn (Robyn) Morton of Jackson, Blaine (Jamie) Morton of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Heather (Josh) Campbell of Jackson, Christopher (Jackie) Morton of DeSoto, Mo., Adam Morton of Jackson, Angela Morton and Hayley Morton of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Campbell and Nicholas Campbell of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. to service time today at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The service will be at 2 p.m. today at the mausoleum, with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.

Memorials may be made to Maple United Methodist Church Expansion Fund.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
