Doris L. Middleton, known to her family and friends as Dorsey, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at the age of 75 years.
She was born May 27, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Ed and Annice Sadler Mirly. Doris lived her entire life in the town of Advance, Missouri.
Doris now is reunited with her husband of 54 years, Brown Middleton Jr. Doris and JR were united in marriage Dec. 17, 1961, in Gordonville, and he preceded her in death Dec. 28, 2014.
Doris lovingly supported her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She assisted with the Mirly Truck Center in Advance, founded by her father in 1961, and the business endured for a period of 47 years. She was a member of Advance United Methodist Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Tim Middleton of Advance and Mike (Julie) Middleton of Chelsea, Alabama; and five grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Logan, Miranda and Tanner Middleton. Doris also will be remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, including Jeff Tolle, Steven Tolle and Alicia Tolle-Martella, all of California; and brother-in-law, Al Tolle of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Annice Mirly; her husband, JR Middleton; and her dear sister, Ruth Ann Tolle.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
