TAMMS, Ill. -- Doris Marie Grigsby, 79, of Tamms died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 26, 1934, in Grand Chain, Ill., the daughter of Roy and Violet Ablett Minor.
Doris loved to cook, collected cookbooks and was known for her potato salad. Doris was a waitress at The Goose Pit. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Grigsby of Tamms; three daughters, Karen (Jim) Goodman of Mount Vernon, Wash., Deborah Ablett-Minor of Anna, Ill., and Vicki (David) Taylor of Jonesboro, Ill.; one son, Steven Earl Harp of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; stepson Kevin (Susan) Grigsby of Anna; stepdaughter Kimberly (Tom) Glaab of Tamms; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
She is preceded in death by her infant children, Janet Lee Harp and David Wayne Bosecker, and three brothers, Paul Minor Sr., Robert Minor and Raymond Minor Sr.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Clark Short officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
