Doris DeBoe, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Monticello House in Jackson. She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of L. Milton and Willie Harris Cobb. She and Zack DeBoe were married March 30, 1946, in Cape Girardeau. He died April 19, 1976...

Doris DeBoe, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of L. Milton and Willie Harris Cobb. She and Zack DeBoe were married March 30, 1946, in Cape Girardeau. He died April 19, 1976.

DeBoe was a graduate of Central High School. She worked at the license bureau office, Auto Tire and Parts, and then at Florsheim Shoe 30 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher, and lifetime member of Women's Missionary Union.

Survivors include two sons, Jim DeBoe of Cape Girardeau, Tom DeBoe of Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter, Julie Penney of Mabank, Texas; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
