Doris Mae Carlson died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness.
Mrs. Carlson was a native of Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Martha Dahlin. She had lived in Gainesville since 1981, and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Carlson was an avid bridge player and golfer. She was a longtime member of Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William J. Carlson; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Dana Hurlbut of Lake Placid, Fla.; a son, James Allen Carlson of Gainesville; a son and daughter-in-law, William Craig and Julie Carlson of Gainesville; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven K. and Kim Carlson of Gainesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Stan Williams of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Bob Dahlin of Geneva, Ill.; a sister, Marion Dekeyser of Yorkville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many relatives and friends.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Michael's Church. The Rev. Vincent Sullivan will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Leukemia Society, 2625 Cumberland Parkway, Suite 205, Atlanta, Ga., 30339.
Little Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville is in charge of arrangements.
