ADVANCE, Mo. — Doris Lee Bush, 78, of Advance passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 5, 1939 in Advance, the daughter of David and Bessie Cooper Bollinger. Doris retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, where she had worked in the dietary department. She attended Calvary Cornerstone Church in Advance. She enjoyed being with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports...

ADVANCE, Mo. — Doris Lee Bush, 78, of Advance passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 5, 1939 in Advance, the daughter of David and Bessie Cooper Bollinger.

Doris retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, where she had worked in the dietary department. She attended Calvary Cornerstone Church in Advance. She enjoyed being with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Doris and Norbert Bush were united in marriage Oct. 25, 1959, at Advance, and he preceded her in death Aug. 11, 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, Rella (Bill) Halcomb of Sparta, Missouri, Carla Bush of St. Louis and Cindy (David) Curtis of Advance; two sisters, Lois Limbaugh and Barbara Sokolowski, both of Advance; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Merile, Namen and Howard Bollinger; and three sisters, Verma Bollinger, Vonda Maschmeyer and Velma Bollinger.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Rev. John Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City, Missouri.
