DORIS BROTHERTON

SIKESTON -- Private funeral for Doris F. Brotherton of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating.

Brotherton, 54, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Franklin, Ala., daughter of Charles R. and Gloria D. Whited Hammock.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and had been a secretary for the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife in St. Petersburg, Fla. She is a 1965 graduate of Sikeston High School.

Survivors include her parents of Van Buren; a daughter, Angela Brotherton of Sikeston; a brother, Jesse Hammock of Sikeston; four sisters, Bonnie Crumpecker of Potosi, Charlene Dunning of Jeffersonville, Ind., Della Bedell and Laurinda Morrison, both of Van Buren; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
